The Cornish Midsummer Eve Bonfire Celebrations Each

The following Societies hope to be holding the Mid-summers Eve bonfire ceremony in 2010

An estimated crowd of around 130 enjoyed a warm but windy evening at the summit of Kit Hill where Callington O.C.S. celebrated their 80th Anniversary of the first modern day Midsummer Eve (St. Johns Eve) Bonfire. In the photograph from left to right (or front to back) are Callington Town Cryer Denis Cook, Rev. M. Richards, Callington Portreeve Mr. R. Lumley, Portrevene Mrs. S. Lumley and Callington O.C.S. President Keith Shaw.
