All indoor meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the Month at the Age Concern Centre,

Fore Street, St Just at 7-30pm.

The annual subscription is £2.50; visitors 50p each meeting.

All are welcome so why not come and join us. All talks are followed by a chat over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits.

I would like to draw your attention to the Gladys Lovell Essay, which anyone who is interested can enter. The subject is "Royal Celebrations" which can include memories of the Coronation, Jubilees, weddings, etc, whatever local interest they aroused. If this information can be circulated, perhaps we may get a few more entries!!!
Thank you. Mary King.

The Canon Taylor Memorial Lecture

Stuart Barrie, the vicar of St. Just from 1956 - 72 instigated the Canon Taylor Lecture in his memory, and it is held every year at the beginning of November.

Canon Taylor (b. 26 February 1858 - d. 5 July 1938) was the vicar of St. Just for about 20 years. He was a well respected antiquarian and author, and was known for his pastoral ministry in and around the community of St. Just and district. When he died in 1930 the people of St. Just had him buried in the churchyard at Carn Bosavern, but the wrong way round, so that on the day of resurrection he would be facing his congregation!

For further information click here

You can read Canon Taylor's book ""The Celtic Christianity of Cornwall", by clicking on the title. The book is just one of over three hundred in our e-book library.
